Heavy Buckram fabric is a one-ply, coarse woven cotton fabric that is heavily stiffened.
Therefore, it is the prefered choice in making hat frames.
Thread Count: 17-20 per inch.
Width: 30″ wide and 54-58″ wide.
Color: Black or White.
Black is sold by the yard or in 5 and 30 yd. rolls.

Description

Heavy Buckram is considered a foundation fabric. Therefore, milliners use it as the foundation or frame of a hat. Heavy Buckram fabric is used to make buckram hat frames when a stiffer, blocked hat is desired. Use a fabric like our French Fleece to cover the buckram frame before covering with fabric. As a result, your fabric will be smooth and you have just created a quality hat!
